Well our first month flew by with a one week stay at the Flamingo Resort Puerto Vallarta . The Flamingo is an old style hotel, air conditioning worked fine and the view of the Marina Vallarta was fantastic. The service from ALL the staff was exceptional. We had lunches and dinners at the various restaurants along the marina. While the tempature was perfect for shopping and setting up of our condo.
We shopped for all the usual items including: furniture, appliances, household goods, beds, car, insurance and food. In the meantime we enjoyed the Alamars Beach Club and pools for cooling off. The staff at the Alamar are very nice always checking to see if we need anything and ready to lend a hand. You never know how your day is going to start or end in Mexico.
Puppy we rescued - named him Max, my wife’s new baby. He’s absolutely adorable. Chihauhau cross.

located just a few minutes from La Cruz de Huancaxtle is this amazing beach Destiladeras Beach.
It has a low surf height of 2 - 3 feet and is popular with surfers, wind surfers and boards. This is an excellent beach for taking long walks on it’s soft white sand. Drop in for lunch or dinner at one of the restaurants on the beach.

Well with FM3s in hand we are starting our big countdown. A two year goal now is only seven days away. Most of our furniture and stuff is either sold or donated. What we have in the house are a few things that will be moved out on the 29th. We hit a hotel in Kelowna for two nights then catch a flight on the July 2nd. Amazing, it was that easy.
Now when we land that will be a different story adjusting to the humidity and pace of Puerto Vallarta. We’ll catch a cab as it will be late in the day and then rent a car the following morning.
We’ll go purchase a bed, get our appliances in and visit Costco. We’ll be staying in a hotel close to the shopping for the first 4 days. Then luck be on our side we’ll move into our new condo.
Will keep you posted.

We read online that the FM3 requirements and procedures where changing. So we decided to head down to Vancouver BC and visit the Mexican Consulate. Using google map we figured out roughly where we would be heading. Heading down East Hasting it took us to the downtown area where we found a parking spot near Howe. The consulate was a few blocks away at 411-1177 West Hastings St., Vancouver, B.C. V6E 2K3 Tel. (604) 684-3547/ (604) 684-1859.
We handed in our Canadian Passports, photos and letter from the bank stating we can support $1,000 per month each. We filled in a one page form covering some basic information. Had our photos taken and one fingerprint recorded electronically. The staff was so helpful and had all this done within one hour. In one week we return and pickup our visas and will be only weeks away to a one way ticket to Puerto Vallarta.

After many visits to Puerto Vallarta staying at fabulous resorts all over Banderas Bay we have decided to purchase a property. After a one week visit at Holiday Inn we inspected our condo and signed all the necessary papers. Not only do we own a fantastic condo but we are moving to La Cruz de Hunacaxtle fulltime. This small fishing community La Cruz de Hunacaxtle is a few minutes from the Buceries and half an hour north of Puerto Vallarta.
We headed home to Peachland and listed our house for sale. The market was right, its a beautiful house so it sold within a week. Now things realy hit home as we take a look around and realize we have a ton of work to do.

Puerto Vallarta Spa
Set high above town with a splendid view of the entire bay, Terra Noble Spa and Healing Center is a unique experience.
Not only is it an extraordinary spa, but it is also a cultural center. This marvelous and paradisiacal site surrounded by exuberant vegetation, with a great bay view is established to preserve and teach the techniques of Mexico’s pre-Hispanic art forms.
At Terra Noble, visitors are given a hands-on opportunity to discover their hidden talents in clay and art workshops, relax with a healing massage, or steam away stress in the sweat lodge. Optional lunch features pre-Hispanic specialties. While enjoying the spectacular views of Puerto Vallarta.
